Talk about giving people what they want. Paul McCartney had Citizens’ Bank Park under his spell for three hours and a 36-song setlist last night. It featured elections from his vast catalog of solo material: “Maybe I’m Amazed” and “Temporary Secretary,” to his Kayne collab “FourFiveSeconds”. There were Wings jams, “Hi Hi Hi” to “Live And Let Die.” There were Beatles deep cuts (“I’ve Got A Feeling,” “Here, There and Everywhere”) and mega-hits (you know which ones those are). Dude even busted out a Quarrymen jam, “In Spite of All the Danger.”
The focus, clearly, was on the generations of songwriting — with a slight break so a sign-waving couple from Philadelphia, Dylan Berwick and Marissa Gray, could get engaged onstage (watch it below) — and at one point, McCartney took off his blue jacket and joked “that was my wardrobe change for tonight.” Rock on, Macca.
Check out photos from the show, read the full setlist and watch a few fan videos below.
